What this policy covers

This policy explains how spmbiology.com.my handles personal data shared with us, in line with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). We collect data only through WhatsApp, when a parent or student contacts us to enquire about or book a lesson.

What we collect

When you message us, we may collect:

The parent’s name and the student’s name
The student’s form (F4 or F5) and target grade
The WhatsApp number used to contact us
Notes about the lesson: topics covered, progress, and areas the student is working on

We do not collect payment card details, identification numbers, or any data beyond what is needed to arrange and run lessons.

Why we collect it

This data lets us match a student with a suitable teacher, confirm a rate on WhatsApp, arrange lesson times, and keep a lesson on track from one session to the next. We use it for these purposes only.

Who sees your data

Your data is seen only by the founders who run the service and your child’s assigned Biology teacher. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with any other party.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and lesson data for as long as lessons continue, and for a reasonable period afterward in case a family returns. Data is not kept indefinitely once there is no ongoing relationship.

Your rights

Under the PDPA, you may ask us to:

Tell you what personal data we hold about you or your child
Correct data that is inaccurate or outdated
Withdraw consent and have your data deleted, subject to any lesson records we reasonably need to keep

To exercise any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp.

Children’s data

Where the student is a minor, we deal with the parent as the person who provides consent and manages the data on the student’s behalf. We do not contact a minor student directly outside of scheduled lessons.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use cookies to track visitors. If analytics is enabled to understand how the site is used, it collects only aggregate, non-identifying usage data, it is not linked to the personal data described above.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle personal data changes, we will update this page. Continued use of our WhatsApp contact after an update means the current version applies to you.
