What happens in the first hour

1. Your WhatsApp message is read and answered the same day, with an experienced Biology teacher chosen for your child's form and the chapters named.
2. A time for the one-hour paid trial is agreed directly with the teacher, fitted around school hours rather than a fixed slot.
3. The lesson opens with a few questions, usually five to ten minutes, so the teacher can hear what your child already knows and where the actual gap is.
4. Most of the hour goes on that gap: the teacher explains it, then has your child apply it, rather than working through a set of slides.
5. If a second area of difficulty comes up during the hour, the teacher notes it for a future lesson instead of trying to cover everything at once.
6. The lesson ends with a short written answer marked on the spot, so you see the standard of feedback before deciding on a further lesson.
7. By the end of the hour, you know two things: whether the teaching style suits your child, and exactly which chapter or paper skill to focus on next.

Why we start with a paid trial, not a hard sell

The honest test of a teacher is a real lesson, not a sales call. So the first thing your child does is a paid one-hour lesson with your child's teacher, real content, real marking, and you decide afterwards.

There is no contract to sign first and nothing to pay upfront beyond that hour.

Everything is arranged over WhatsApp, so you are never on a phone queue or a mailing list. You message, we reply the same day, and lessons are scheduled around your child’s week.

The same lesson-by-lesson arrangement continues after the trial. There is no term to sign and no minimum number of weeks: a family might book a single lesson to fix one chapter before a test, pause over a school holiday, then return with two lessons a week as the exam date gets closer.

This is different from paying for a block of lessons before the first one has happened. By the time any real commitment is asked for, your child has already sat through a full hour with the teacher, and you have seen a marked answer rather than a promise.

None of this depends on a long-term relationship being assumed from the outset. A family that only ever needs one lesson before one test has had a complete, useful experience; a family that continues for two years has simply kept choosing to book, lesson after lesson.

What a lesson looks like

Step 1, you message us on WhatsApp with your child’s form (F4 or F5), target grade and the chapters or papers they struggle with. Step 2, we set your child up with an experienced Biology teacher and quote their rate.

Step 3, your child takes a paid one-hour trial lesson over video. Step 4, if it fits, you book further lessons as needed.

Each lesson is booked as you need it.

Lessons are arranged directly with your child's teacher over WhatsApp, so a clash with a school event or an unplanned test can be rescheduled rather than lost. Nothing repeats automatically without a message first.

A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson, especially the trial, to see for themselves how the teacher explains a concept and marks an answer before deciding whether to continue. Lessons happen over video, so no travel is needed on either side.

None of the four steps changes for a second child in the same family. Each child gets their own teacher and trial separately, so a sibling's teacher or schedule is never assumed to fit another child's chapters or pace.

What we cover

Your first lesson is a one-hour paid trial; after that, lessons run 1.5 to 2 hours, set with your child's teacher to suit what your child needs. Every lesson is one-to-one, on any part of the KSSM syllabus, 28 chapters across Form 4 and Form 5, and any of the three papers.

You can change focus week to week: one hard chapter now, Paper 2 essays later, Paper 3 skills before the practical.

The same four steps apply whether your child needs a single lesson to rescue one hard chapter or an ongoing weekly lesson across the full 28 chapters syllabus, only how often you book changes, not how starting works.

Chapters can also be revisited later. If a topic covered three or four lessons ago has since been forgotten, naming it again in a new WhatsApp message brings it back into a lesson rather than waiting for it to resurface in a mock exam.

There is also no separate process for a change of school type, the same steps apply whether your child is at a national secondary school, a Chinese independent school sitting SPM as a private candidate, or studying at home.

Rate & trial

Lessons are from RM50/hr. The exact rate depends on the teacher's experience and is confirmed on WhatsApp. The trial is a paid one-hour lesson at the teacher's rate, a real lesson with real marking, so you can judge the teaching before you continue.

Simple and flexible

What to have ready before the trial lesson

A trial lesson goes further when the teacher already knows where to start. Before the first WhatsApp message, it helps to have your child's form, the chapters or papers causing the most trouble, and a recent grade or mark in mind, this is the same information the WhatsApp prefill message already asks for.

If your child has a recent test paper, a past-year question answered wrongly, or a school report naming a weak topic, having it nearby during the lesson lets the teacher work from a real example rather than a general explanation. This is not required, but it usually shortens the time spent finding the actual gap.

Beyond that, nothing else needs preparing. The teacher leads the hour, and the same details used to arrange the trial are enough for them to plan what to teach in that first lesson.

The same habit helps every lesson that follows the trial: naming the exact chapter, paper section or past mistake in advance means less time spent re-explaining the whole topic and more time on the specific part your child got wrong.

None of this needs to be typed out at length. A short WhatsApp message naming the form, the target grade and the chapter or paper that is causing trouble is normally enough for the first reply to already suggest a suitable teacher.

The goal of this preparation is simply speed: a teacher who knows the starting point in advance can use the full lesson on teaching rather than on discovering, in the lesson itself, what the actual problem is.

It also helps to test the video-call link and audio a few minutes before the trial itself, particularly on a shared family device, so the first minutes of the paid hour are not spent troubleshooting a connection instead of teaching.
