Pricing & the paid trial
How does the trial work?
The trial is a paid one-hour lesson at the teacher's rate, a real lesson with real marking. Your child learns something in it, and you decide afterwards whether to continue.

What does SPM Biology tuition cost?
From RM50 an hour. The exact rate depends on the teacher's experience and we quote it on WhatsApp. Lessons are booked one at a time, with no lock-in, as your child needs them.

Are lessons in English or Malay?
Lessons are delivered in English. The SPM Biology papers are set bilingually in Bahasa Melayu and English, so teachers make sure your child knows the key terms in both languages for the exam.

Can we choose specific chapters?
Yes. Tell us on WhatsApp which chapters or papers your child struggles with and we set your child up with an experienced Biology teacher and plan lessons around them, whether that is one difficult chapter or the whole syllabus.

How often should lessons happen?
It depends on your child's goal. Weekly lessons suit steady, term-long progress; twice a week suits a student catching up on missed chapters; and a short, intensive run of lessons suits the weeks before an exam. There is no fixed schedule to sign up to, you decide, and can change it as needs change.

What if my child is behind in more than one chapter?
The teacher prioritises rather than trying to fix everything in one lesson. Foundation chapters that other topics depend on, cells, movement across membranes, respiration, are usually addressed first, because progress there tends to make later chapters easier to follow.

Do lessons prepare for Paper 3, the practical test?
Yes. Paper 3 tests science process skills, planning an investigation, identifying variables, tabulating results and writing an inference, and lessons can drill these specifically, using original practice questions written in the style of the real practical paper.

Can lessons be arranged around exam dates or school holidays?
Yes. Because lessons are booked one at a time rather than through a fixed term, timing can shift around school exams, holidays, or a sudden change in your child's schedule without losing any prepaid sessions.

What do we need for online lessons?
A laptop or tablet with a camera, a stable internet connection, and a quiet spot. A second device or a printed worksheet helps for practising diagrams, but is not essential to start.

Is online tuition as effective as in person for Biology?
For Biology it works well, because the subject is taught through explanation, diagrams and marked answers, which all share clearly on screen. The teacher can see your child's working and correct it live.
From: Online SPM Biology tutor
Can lessons be recorded?
That is between you and the teacher, ask on WhatsApp. Most students prefer to make their own notes during the lesson so recall practice starts in the session itself.
From: Online SPM Biology tutor
How do we start?
Message us on WhatsApp with your child's form and target grade. We set your child up with an experienced Biology teacher and a paid one-hour trial lesson so you can judge the fit before committing.
From: Online SPM Biology tutor
What if my child has never learned over video call before?
Most students adjust within the first few minutes, since the format is closer to a normal video call than to specialised software. The teacher talks your child through screen-sharing at the very start of the trial lesson, so nothing needs to be set up in advance.
From: Online SPM Biology tutor
Does my child need any special software?
No special software is required beyond a standard video-call app and, ideally, a way to share a screen or a photo of written work. The teacher will confirm the exact tool when the trial lesson is arranged on WhatsApp.

What happens if the internet connection is unstable on the day?
If a call drops, the teacher waits for your child to reconnect and picks the lesson up from where it stopped rather than starting over. A persistently poor connection is worth raising on WhatsApp before the next lesson so a different time or device can be tried.
From: Online SPM Biology tutor
Can the same online setup work for a student with limited internet at home?
Video calls at the quality needed for a shared screen and audio use a modest amount of data, well within a typical home broadband or mobile data plan. If a connection is genuinely limited, mentioning it on WhatsApp lets the teacher plan around audio-only stretches where a diagram is not being shared.

My child already attends group tuition, why switch?
If marks are stuck despite group classes, the missing piece is usually individual recall practice and marked answers. A one-to-one class spends the whole lesson on exactly that, which a shared class cannot.
Is one-to-one more expensive?
Per hour it can be, but the hour does more, nothing is shared or repeated for others. Lessons are from RM50 an hour, quoted on WhatsApp, paid one hour at a time.
Can we do one class a week?
Yes. You book classes as your child needs them, weekly, fortnightly, or intensively before an exam. There is no fixed schedule you must lock into.
Can we try one-to-one for just one chapter, not the whole subject?
Yes, a class can focus on a single chapter or paper skill without committing to ongoing lessons. If it helps, further lessons can be booked; if not, there is nothing further to arrange.
How does the teacher know what to focus on without knowing my child beforehand?
The lesson itself is the assessment, the teacher asks your child to explain or answer something from the chapter in question, and the response shows where the gap actually is within the first few minutes.
Is one-to-one better for a student who is already scoring well?
It can be, for a different reason: instead of fixing gaps, the hour pushes further with harder past-year questions and essay technique, at a pace a group class working toward the average cannot match.
What happens if my child cannot explain why an answer is wrong?
That is exactly what the hour is for. The teacher breaks the concept back down to where it stopped making sense, rebuilds it from there, and checks understanding again before moving on.
Do we need to choose between one-to-one and group tuition permanently?
No, some families keep a group class for general pace and add one-to-one lessons only for chapters or papers where the group pace is not enough. There is no rule requiring one or the other exclusively.
Can a one-to-one class help with the Paper 3 practical, not just written recall?
Yes, a class can focus on planning an experiment, identifying variables, or writing up a conclusion under the same planning and answering minutes used in the real practical, rather than only drilling written recall for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
How is a one-to-one class different from a recorded video lesson or an app?
A recording or app cannot hear your child's actual answer and correct it in the moment, it can only present the same explanation to everyone. A one-to-one class listens to what your child says, spots the exact word or step that is wrong, and fixes it there and then, which a fixed video cannot do.
How long is a one-to-one class?
The trial is one hour. After that, classes usually run 1.5 to 2 hours, set with your child's teacher based on what your child needs, since recall-heavy Biology benefits from enough time to understand a topic, drill the recall and test it again properly in one sitting rather than rushing it.
How much is SPM Biology tuition?
From RM50 an hour for one-to-one online lessons. The exact rate depends on the teacher’s experience and is quoted on WhatsApp before you book anything.
Are there packages or discounts?
Each lesson is booked one at a time, and you're free to stop whenever you like. You book lessons as your child needs them. If you want a regular weekly slot, tell us on WhatsApp and we arrange it.
Does the rate change for Paper 3 practical coaching or exam-focused lessons?
No, the hourly rate is set by your child's teacher, not by which paper or skill the lesson focuses on. The same quoted rate applies whether the hour goes on content, Paper 2 essays or Paper 3 coaching.
Is there a cheaper rate for booking multiple lessons at once?
Pricing is set per lesson rather than through packages or bulk pricing, each lesson quoted and booked individually at your child's teacher's rate. This keeps the arrangement flexible rather than tying you to a fixed number of lessons upfront.
Do we pay before or after the lesson?
Payment timing is arranged directly with the teacher when the lesson is booked on WhatsApp. The exact rate is always confirmed before the lesson starts, so there is no surprise cost afterward.
What if the quoted rate does not fit our budget?
Tell us on WhatsApp, a different teacher, often with fewer years of experience, may be available at a lower rate. There is no obligation to accept the first quote before a lesson is booked.
Is the rate different for a first lesson compared to later lessons?
No, the trial is charged at the same rate as any lesson that follows it. The trial is simply the first paid hour, not a separate, discounted introduction.
Does the rate include feedback or a progress update for parents?
A short note on what was covered and what to work on next is normal after a lesson, as part of the hour rather than a separate paid service. Anything more detailed can be requested directly from the teacher on WhatsApp.
What happens in the first lesson?
It is a normal one-to-one lesson: the teacher checks what your child knows, works on a weak area, drills recall and marks an answer. A parent can sit in to watch.

What if the teacher isn’t the right fit?
Tell us on WhatsApp and we’ll move your child to a different teacher. Because there is no package or lock-in, you are never stuck with a poor fit.
From: How it works
How is the rate decided?
The rate depends on your child's teacher's years of experience and is quoted on WhatsApp before the trial is booked, so the per-hour cost is known before you agree to it. Nothing is added on top as a registration or booking fee.
From: How it works
Can we ask for a specific teacher?
Yes, name a teacher if your child already has one in mind, or let us choose one based on the form and chapters that need attention. Either way, lessons stay booked one at a time rather than as a term.
From: How it works
Does the lesson stay at the same time every week?
No, each lesson is booked separately on WhatsApp, so the day and time can move around school exams, events or holidays. There is no fixed weekly slot that has to be kept or given up.
From: How it works
What happens after the trial if we want to continue?
You message on WhatsApp to book the next lesson at a time that suits your child, at the same rate quoted for the trial. There is no separate sign-up step and no package to choose between, each lesson is booked the same way as the first.
From: How it works
Is the process different for a repeat candidate?
The same four steps apply. A repeat candidate is usually registering as Form 5 or as a private candidate, naming that, along with the chapters or papers that need work, is enough for a teacher to be assigned and a trial arranged.
From: How it works
Do we need to message during office hours?
No, WhatsApp messages are read and answered the same day regardless of when they are sent, including evenings and weekends. There is no office-hours window to wait for.
From: How it works
Can my child message you directly instead of a parent?
Yes, either a parent or the student can send the first WhatsApp message, and the same steps apply either way. What matters is the information given: the form, target grade and the chapters or papers that need attention, not who types the message.
From: How it works
Can we ask for the trial lesson to focus on a specific topic from the start?
Yes, naming the exact chapter, past-year question or recent mistake in the first WhatsApp message lets the teacher plan the trial around it directly, rather than spending part of the hour finding out what to focus on.
