Sentul is a mix of long-standing families and residents who have moved in as the area redevelops, and that mix means two students on the same street can arrive at SPM Biology from very different starting points, taught by different teachers in a different order. Rather than assume a fixed starting point, our first Sentul session is always diagnostic: the teacher works through a short set of questions spanning the 28 chapters to see exactly which concepts are secure and which need to be rebuilt, before a single week of lessons is planned.

For a student who has genuinely fallen behind, whatever the reason, the diagnostic result becomes the lesson order. The teacher does not restart the whole syllabus from chapter one; instead, weak chapters identified in the first session are taught first, in the sequence they support each other, while chapters the student already understands are covered quickly as revision rather than repeated in full.

This keeps limited lesson time pointed at the gaps that would otherwise cost the most marks in Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Some Sentul students arrive mid-year after changing schools altogether, and find their new school's chapter order does not match what they covered before, whatever their previous school's background. Our teachers map the two syllabuses against each other during the diagnostic session, so a topic already taught under a different name or sequence is recognised and credited, rather than retaught from scratch.

The goal is a single, consistent set of notes the student can revise from, regardless of how many schools contributed to their SPM Biology so far.

A third group of Sentul students is not behind at all, but loses marks in ways that a diagnostic session also catches: an answer that is scientifically correct but phrased in a way the 100 marks-mark Paper 2 scheme does not credit. Here the teacher works from the student's own past answers where available, or a short written response set during the trial, and rebuilds phrasing habits rather than content, comparing each answer against the marking scheme term by term.

Every Sentul student starts the same way, whatever their diagnostic result: a paid one-hour trial with a chosen teacher at that teacher's own rate, arranged on WhatsApp, with each lesson booked on its own afterward. Lessons are one-to-one, online and in English, with bilingual BM/EN terms introduced as needed.
